How does the heating technology work?

The Chinook and Otto heated vests are designed to provide warmth and comfort to both dogs and the owners who love them.  In cold weather, these vests use battery-powered built-in heating elements to generate warmth. The heat is evenly distributed throughout the vest to keep you and your dog warm and cozy, and you can choose the temperature control to meet the current weather conditions.

Are these vests safe for my dog and me?

Yes, these vests are designed with safety in mind. They have a built-in automatic shut off to prevent overheating, and they are crafted from materials that are safe for both dogs and humans to wear.

What is the power source used?

These vests come with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, charging cable, and charging block.  This battery plugs into the USB wire port inside the dedicated battery pocket on the vest, and the battery is stowed away nicely for your outdoor fun. 

How long does the battery last on a single charge?

On average, a fully charged battery can last anywhere from 4 to 8 hours.  Battery life will vary depending on the size of the vest and the temperature setting chosen.

Can I use these vests in wet or snowy conditions?

Your heated vest is wind and water-resistant, so it will fend off light showers and snowy conditions. 

How many heating levels do these vests have?

There are three power settings allowing you to choose the level of warmth that suits your preferences and the weather conditions:
High=Red,
Medium=Blue
Low=Green.

Are these suitable for outdoor activities in cold weather?

Yes, these vests are perfect for outdoor activities in cold weather. They help you stay warm and comfortable in chilly conditions, and they are water resistant fending off light rain and snow.

How much recycled content is in your Toasty Trails vests?

All our heated vests contain up to 25% recycled polyester (rPET) content.

Do you offer custom products?

Yes We Do! You can custom order our Chinook or Otto heated vests in a variety of additional colours or embroidered with your company/team logo.

Are your Heated Vests Waterproof?

All our vests are treated with Teflon™ Fabric Protector, which repels water and stains and dries up to 40% faster.  Toasty Trails vests are not waterproof but boast a 3/3 DWR water resistance/breathability rating.  For more information about this rating, please click here:  Insert hyperlink to a back page titled “waterproofness explained” document.

Size, Fit & Care

Are the vests adjustable for different body sizes?

The Chinook vest is available in unisex size. The side seam zippers allow for variable fit in the hip area. The soft stretch binding allows for variable fit on the arms and along the hem. The Otto dog vest harness system allows for an adjustable fit ensuring coverage for a wide range of dog breeds, shapes and sizes, creating a custom fit for virtually every dog.

What is the best size for me or my dog?

We know that everybody and every puppy have unique and different body shapes and sizes. You will find a size guide on each of our product pages where you can determine the perfect size for you and your pup!

Can I wash my heated vest?

Yes, these vests are fully machine washable.  First ensure the battery has been removed before washing. Next, cover the USB wire port with the attached rubber cap before washing. Then follow the garment’s wash and care tag instructions.

How do I wash/clean my heated vest?

All of our garments have a sewn in wash and care tag. Please follow proper wash and care instructions. Improper laundering voids warranty. Warranty / Returns

What is your product warranty and where can I go for customer service?

We want to ensure you have a positive experience with your new heated vest.  Our products are fully warranted against defects in materials and craftsmanship, under normal use and proper wash and care conditions, for a period of one (1) year from the original invoice date. 3E agrees, at its option during the warranty period, to repair any defect in material or workmanship, to offer a partial or full refund, or to furnish a replacement product per the original order without charge. Verification of the defect or malfunction and proof of purchase confirmed by original dated sales receipt is required. 3E reserves the right to request any defective product be returned to its warehouse or to have proof via photos that the defective item has been destroyed / rendered unusable.

How do I process a return or an exchange?

If we made an error processing your order, we apologize.  Please let us know and we
will take corrective action to rectify it promptly.  Please contact us with your details at sales@toastytrails.com

Returns are accepted on new and unused product within 30 days of purchase.  To initiate a return please contact us at sales.toasty.trails@gmail.com to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA).  Please do not send an order back to us until you’ve initiated the return process and have been provided an RMA.  Items returned without an RMA will be rejected.  Upon receipt of the returned items deemed to be in new, saleable, unworn condition with an RMA, we will notify you and process the appropriate adjustment to your account. The customer will be required to cover the cost of any return shipping charges. You will be refunded the total value of your order, minus any shipping fees. Initial shipping fees are non-refundable. Please allow 7-10 business day for your refund which will be processed in the original form of payment.

** Altered items are non-returnable.

Can I exchange an item?

Items in new, resalable condition may be exchanged for a different size or colour of equal or greater value within 30 days of purchase date. The customer will be required to cover any shipping related charges.

Ordering / Shipping

I want to bundle a Chinook and Otto in different colours.  How do I proceed with this purchase to receive the bundle discount?

Simply add the Chinook in desired size/colour to your shopping cart and then add your Otto in desired size/colour.  Upon checkout a discount offer will pop up Apply discount and go to checkout simply hit the green button “Yes Please” to receive your discounted bundle. 

Do you offer custom alterations?

We do not offer alterations. Should alterations be made to any 3E Workwear garment, our warranty will be void. Altered garments are non-returnable.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept VISA, MASTER CARD and PayPal.

How long does it take for my order to ship?

We strive to have all orders ship within 1 week from the day your order is placed, but will often ship faster, depending on our busy seasons.

Can I pick up my order?

Sure. Local pickup is available at our Ancaster, Ontario warehouse (following current public health guidelines). Proof of purchase and valid government issued I.D. is required.

Where do you ship to?

We currently only ship within Canada.

Can you ship to a PO box number?

We are unable to ship to a PO box number. 

How will my order be shipped?

We ship via the best available option including Canada Post, Purolator and UPS. ALL shipments will be sent "Carbon Neutral".

Charges to credit card?
